MarathonMasters is a Toastmasters club dedicated to helping its members become better speakers and leaders. Guests are always welcome, so come by for a visit to see what we're all about. We meet Thursdays at noon at Trailside Center located on the southeast corner of Holmes Road and 99th Street in south Kansas City.
With the skills learned from membership in the club, members are able to:
MarathonMasters has selected a new location for our weekly meetings. Due to policy changes at Webster University, we are no longer able to meet at their campus. We would like to thank Webster for allowing us to use their facilities for the last two years.
Our new location is at Trailside Center, located on the southeast corner of 99th Street and Holmes. Trailside has offered us use of their Watts Mill meeting room. The room is large, has a dedicated smartboard for our use, and should suit our needs well. We will be meeting at this new location starting with our July 15 meeting. I look forward to seeing everyone there.

The District 22 2010 Spring Conference is upon us. Prepare yourselves for a full day of insightful keynote speeches, riveting competitions, and great company this coming May 1. Plus, join in on the fun prior the the conference at Friday fun night on April 30 as clubs compete in Club Feud (kind of like Family Feud, but with Toastmasters competing for prizes and bragging rights). You can find more details at the District 22 web site.
The keynote speeches for this conference are:
Today's contest was a spectacle to behold. There were five contestants for the speech contest along with five for the table topics contest, and every presentation was easily worth the price of admission. In the end, however, only one contestant from each contest is chosen to advance to the next level, and neither contestant from MarathonMasters got to claim that prize. The winners will be presenting at the district conference on May 1, so make plans to attend. If today's performances were any indication, the district level contests will be even more amazing.
We are having an open house this week (4/15/2010). Don't let tax day bring you down. Instead, come by for a MarathonMasters event. Enjoy tantalizing speeches, insightful evaluations, and an exciting table topics session. And while you're here, enjoy some snacks and refreshments, compliments of the MarathonMasters members.
This Saturday, April 17, Toastmasters is holding their division S speech and table topics contest. We have two members who will be competing: Eldon in the speech contest and James in the table topics contest. If you have the time, come by and help cheer them on.
