Officer Training (6/21/2014)

Officer training is taking place this Saturday, June 21, in Curry Auditorium located in the Baptist Medical Center at Holmes and Rockhill Road.  Training begins at 9:00am.

Spring 2014 - Club Contest results

At Marathon Masters we held our semi-annual speech contests this last week. There was great turnout, including our District Lt Governor Education, David Whitner. David handed out some nice incentives to members who have completed Toastmaster awards this year, and he also assisted as a contest functionary. The results are listed below. The first place finishers in each category will compete in the Area S71 Contest on Thursday, February 6th at YRC, 6:00pm.

Club Speech Contest (1/30/2014)

MarathonMasters is having a speech and table topics contest on Thursday, January 30.  Winners of the contest will advance to the next level where they will compete with speakers from other clubs the following week.  It's sure to be a good time, so come by and cheer on your favorite speaker, though preferably not while they're speaking as that could be construed as a distraction and you don't want to distract your favorite speaker.  So come by and cheer on your least favorite speaker.

No Meeting on Thanksgiving

In our long standing tradition of not having a meeting when we're locked out of the building, we have chosen to cancel our meeting for Thanksgiving day.  But we encourage our members to make the best of the situation by presenting a speech at your family's Thanksgiving dinner.  Your family may be amazed at your sudden and unexpected presentation, but mostly they will be wondering what ever possessed you to talk for five to seven minutes on the health benefits of being a vegan, especially after you finished off your second helping of turkey.  As soon as you finish your speech, feel free to dive right in and start opening your Christmas presents.  We're Toastmasters, so we have that kind of power.  Don't you wish everyone could be a Toastmaster?

No Meeting on July 4

July 4 is a time of relaxation and celebration.  For those of you who get the day off work we encourage you to go enjoy some fireworks, grilling, and some time at the lake, weather permitting of course.  MarathonMasters will also be taking the day off and will return the following Thursday on July 11 with an open house and some snacks for all to enjoy.  Until then, have fun and don't blow yourself up.  We'd miss you if you did.

Officer Elections (5/16/2013)

MarathonMasters is electing new officers for the upcoming year starting July 1.  Elections will be held during the meeting on Thursday, May 16.  The current nominees are:
